The day arrives. There is no way back. And just like that, five decades have passed. The world in the last fifty years has been marked by rapid change and transformation, with both positive and negative impacts on different aspects of our lives and the world we live in. The last fifty years have seen significant changes and developments in the world. The world has experienced rapid technological growth in recent decades, with the introduction and widespread use of computers, the Internet, smartphones, and other forms of technology that have transformed how we live and work.
The world has become increasingly connected, with advancements in transportation, communication, and trade leading to greater cross-border integration and interdependence. Climate change has become a major global issue, with increasing concerns about the impact of human activities on the planet's environment and the need for action to mitigate its effects.
The last fifty years have seen various political and social changes, including the end of the Cold War, the rise of new powers such as China, and growing movements for greater political and social equality and justice. The world has seen significant advancements in health and medicine, with the development of new treatments and technologies, and increased access to healthcare for people around the world.
People who have succeeded after 50
There are many people who have achieved success after the age of 50, and their stories serve as inspiration for others. Julia Child became a renowned chef and television personality after the age of 50, when she published her first cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking." Vera Wang was a successful fashion designer after the age of 40, when she left her job as an editor at Vogue and started her own fashion design business.
Colonel Sanders, the founder of KFC, started the fast food chain at the age of 65, after years of struggling to make ends meet. Laura Ingalls Wilder became a successful author after the age of 65, when she published the first of her Little House on the Prairie books. Grandma Moses was a renowned folk artist after the age of 76, when her paintings were first exhibited in New York City. These people serve as examples that it's never too late to pursue your dreams and achieve success, no matter your age. The key is to have a passion for what you do and to never give up on your goal.
Age does not exclude passion
The former minister who abolished the guillotine in France, Robert Badinter, coined an essential phrase to understand the true meaning of life: "Age does not exclude passion. There are causes for which I will fight as long as I have breath". In times when experience is underestimated, reflections like this reconcile you with the world. Today fifty years have passed since my friend María was born. I met her a few months ago and this person is so extraordinary and has given me back values taken away by routine. María is wise, vitalist, intelligent, charming, and brilliant. Today I celebrate her fiftieth birthday with her and without any doubt, I know that the best is yet to come. Happy Birthday, Maria.
